The offices are based in Paarl, 70km, North-East of Cape Town, in the heart of the Cape’s fruit-growing region. The company has developed into marketing specialists for South African deciduous fruit delivered to South East Asian countries. In addition, the U.K, European and African markets are also pursued. All product, and pack houses, meet international standards of good agricultural practices and are accredited with HACCP and BRC certification. We are also brand managers for a number of select brands, dealing exclusively with a client in a given market segment. Wolfheart The company has its own in-house brand that it owns, WOLFHEART, dating back to the 1920’s when John Wolfaardt’s grandfather packed and shipped to Covent Garden, London. This brand was revived in 1997, just after the deregulation of the South African fruit industry and is used on request. Fruitworks has a strong social corporate responsibility commitment. Prince Albert Community Trust (PACT) was established in 2013, with the support of the local community, as a charity that would raise funds for social development and channel such funds into worthy projects. Our Team Prior to Fruitworks establishment in 2001, John and Ingrid Wolfaardt farmed deciduous fruit in the Ceres valley, for more than twenty years, being one of the first growers to venture into export marketing after deregulation of the fruit industry in 1996. John is Head of Operations, while Ingrid serves as Sole Director. Fruitworks staff are handpicked for their personal integrity, skills, teamwork and their enthusiasm and commitment to the fruit industry. Our dedicated service includes the following: Ensure that all product is cooled to the right temperature before loading, including steri destinations. In-house tracking of all containers is done to ensure predictable delivery dates. Road transporters used are both certified and industry accredited. Ship cargo in high cube reefer containers. Airfreight is done on request as is break bulk loadings. Long-term relationships with dedicated shipping lines. Shipments from all major ports in South Africa (Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Durban.) Documentation is outsourced to a professional freight forwarder, ensuring accurate and timely documentation with every shipment.
