This was a stunning hike to do, you certainly need to be fit to go up the rocks but when you get up there it's magnificent! There's even a great picnic and BBQ spot at the base.
Good short steep hike to the very top. On a clear day you'll see table mountain. Its ease to see down the valley toward Franschhoek an all the smaller towns around the mountains. Good visit. No dogs allowed :(
Absolutely stunning views. We loved the picnic and braai spots at the Dam. What an absolute beauty of a place. I would however recommend that you use a little bit of patience when driving the roads with a standard sedan or hatch.
This is a worth while half day outing about 50 km from Cape Town on the outskirts of Paarl. The scenery from every angle is breathtaking and gives numerous photo opportunities. There is a section of the road which is not well maintained. A small car (or a car with a low suspension) will not be able to drive in that area. There are a couple of picnic sites with facilities. Bring everything along for the picnic. Closest shops is in the Paarl. There are no food kiosks. If you plan to walk in the area, make sure you wear comfortable non-slip shoes that fits tight. Also make provision for the sun, because there is not a lot of shady trees.
Beautiful views all around you. Go early and avoid the heat.
What an awesome place for Photography. A bit windy when the South Easter is blowing. We hiked to the top of Bretagne Rock/Beacon and then down to Paarl rock. Spectacular views of Paarl, Wellington and towards Table Mountain.
Paarl Rock Nature Reserve has many excellent hiking options, with amazing views. Well worth spending a day exploring. Good family fun outing.
