Good repair job, very good price, but they dragged their feet and I had to keep following up by phone as they didn't answer email. Repair job took nearly 1 month. Would still recommend because of good price and good quality of work, but be aware that following up 2 times per week or so will help the job to move forward.

Boycott. We've had horrifically bad experiences at Photographic Repairs. The first time I took my camera in to be diagnosed and was told I'd get a call later that day. I never ever heard from them again. I called them a week later and (no apologies mind you) they just said "Oh, yes it needs to be repaired". I was leaving for a trip and had no choice but to collect it, still broken. They made me pay for the diagnosis. The second time my boyfriend booked in his camera for a sensor cleaning (despite me telling him not to!) and it came back dirtier than before. When he took it back, again, no apology whatsoever. Never again thank you.
I am impressed at how hard this team works, they tried to fix my camera, unfortunately, it was beyond repairs. They then went out of their way to sort out some of the insurance requirements for me to get a new camera! Thank you Photographic repairs and Tim!
I was Travelling to Cape Town for a few days and my Canon 5D Mark III would not turn on and these guys went above and beyond to ascertain what the issue was, even ordered in parts to test. Unfortunately it was a main board problem and had to fixed when I returned back to Australia. Cannot recommend these guys highly enough for their customer service.
Took my old film camera to have the hotshoe straightened. Though I could have done it myself, i wanted to ask someone who had better tools. I first went to Tothills. A very nice man told me it wasn't an issue at all and I should bring it to photographic repairs. Told me it would take minutes and cost me close to nothing. So I took it in. Around 5 days later they quoted me R975 to redo light seals and replace the hotshoe. I didn't ask for light seals, my camera has no noticeable light leak. I didn't ask for a new hot shoe, I just want the one side straightned. He'll the camera cost me R1400. So then they quote me R475 to just replace the hotshoe. Obviously I went to get it back because I could straighten it myself. They make me pay R150 (quote cost) to get my camera back. I just asked them to straighten the shoe, how could you possibly charge R150 to look at a slightly bent pice of metal on the top of the camera? So, what happened? I took it home, grabbed a pair of pliers and a flat pice of metal I found and I straightend it in 5min. Works perfectly.
Very professional people assisted when my Canon 700D was broken kudos to them
