What a beautiful place to take the family for a day out in nature and to learn more about the amazing creates at Monkeyland. The guided walk through the forest was fantastic, rounded off with a slightly scary walk across the bridge above the tree tops. This part is probably not for those with a height phobia. There was a place to get good eats and the curio shop was packed of of great keepsakes and gifts. It's an experience my kids and I will never forget.

Wow what an amazing experience I didn’t know we had something like this in South Africa. Just a short drive out of Plettenberg Bay, we arrived at Monkeyland not knowing what to expect. The sanctuary was beautiful, our guide was excellent and full of good stories. Some of the little monkeys walk through our group carefree. The sounds, the scenery and the beautiful animals was such an awesome experience. We went to Birds of Eden right after and I was blown away at the size of the sanctuary. Felt like I was walking through a jungle filled with so many species of birds and other small wildlife. The waterfalls and river streams combined with the sounds of the birds really makes you forget you’re in a town and makes you feel like you’re in the middle of the Amazon jungle. Ticket prices aren’t cheap but it’s totally worth it and the money goes to preserving the sanctuary. There’s plenty of parking. I would imagine it would be very difficult for disabled in wheelchairs but not impossible. There are gift shops and a small restaurant inside

Wonderful place. Monkeyland has an hour tour guide.Very friendly and knowledgeable guide (Hamid), also kept my kids engaged. While the Birds of Eden is a slow on your on time walk through. Can buy a map and bird species booklet for R20, while worth it. What is really great is that you can buy a ticket for both sides and don’t need to do it in one day, as my kids (age 4 and 2) was exhausted of all the walking in Monkeyland. We went two weeks later to Birds of Eden.

Its the cutest place! If you have a few hours pop in, they need your support! Take the kids they have a jolly good time!

Monkeyland is a great outdoors experience for young and old. Monkeys roam freely around you, while a guide explains more about the animals. Expect close encounters in a beautiful forest setting.

Monkeyland is a sanctuary with 150 monkeys and lemurs. It is a guided tour experience and the guide we had was both interesting and entertaining. Birds of Eden is a bird sanctuary with a massive number and variety of birds, big and small. They have lovely walkways where you can go at your own pace and see all the birds up close. The colours have to be seen to be believed.

Large and hugely impressive bird park situated right next to Monkeyland. When walking through the park it does not feel like you are walking through an enclosure due to its sheer size. Vegetation is akin to a tropical rain forest, boasting a little waterfall and hanging bridge. Towards the end your visit to the park you can enjoy a delicious light lunch overlooking a dam. Highly recommend this beautiful place for young and old.
