We took the blue train from Johannesburg to Cape Town saw great views, food was amazing, affordable price, staff all lovely and very jolly, left an hour late and because of signal and electrical issues we was on the train an additional 9 hours, not a problem for us but others missed connecting flights although staff were very helpful

Very disappointed in the experience far to expensive for what you get.

This was the best train experience of my life! We only had the privilege to travel from Johannesburg to Durban bit it was still a memorable trip! Thanks for the good quality service !

We had high expectations for this trip and were disappointed due to mechanical failures. The people, food, and accommodations were what we expected for train travel. It's not the Orient Express but acceptable train travel. Other reviews will tell you the same and we are adding to them. We boarded in Johannesburg and after 18 hours only traveled 97 miles. As the day progressed the train did not. At Kimberly, 1/3 of the way, 15 people got off and either flew or drove to Cape Town. We all had travel commitments that would allow 30 more hours on the train. Many stayed with the train to endure another 30 hours. Hopefully food was available. The timeline is for 26 hours and after 48 hours the train hasn't arrived Cape Town where are awaiting friends. Given proper maintenance this train can return to its glorious past, but sadly it's lacking today.

The Premier Classe is an excellent way to travel comfortably between Johannesburg and Cape Town. It takes at least 26 hours (and you should not make any plans for day two, as they can be anything between 2-13 hours delayed) and you will be fed and entertained and cared for the whole way. The landscape is breathtaking, the food is good and the wine is cheap, so enjoy your ride.

To travel by premier class train was the best experience in matters of train riding. I never made it before.
