The Pretoria Diplomatic Association (PDA) was established and run by diplomats for diplomats. It is the organization for diplomats accredited to South Africa to promote contacts and friendship among colleagues and with the south-African hosts, based in Pretoria. The PDA is governed by a managerial board up to 12 members (represented by diplomats from different Embassies in South Africa). Through the different events / Gala dinners, PDA is raising money for various organizations in South Africa (Mohau orphanage, NGO's, etc). The aim of the PDA is to create a conducive environment where diplomats can interact with each other in the South Africa and where businesses can develop their relationships, promoting their products and services to the diplomatic community. The logo show the social connection between the different cultures living in Pretoria poised over the Jakaranda Tree, a traditional symbol of the Jakaranda City (Pretoria) itself. The "reef" serves to illustrate the African culture and People embracing the PDA community.
