Between here and there, in the middle of nowhere, we arrived at John Rock 4x4. Bended under the year of 2020 we scouted out a spot to put our tent up. "Hidden" I said.. We came here too lick our wounds and lay our weary heads down for 2 nights .. Well that emotion lifted the instant Mr. Johnny (as my 9 year old call him) walked over. We were met with laughter, assisted with advice, cared for with love.. This camping site is a CONSTANT work in progress, improvement upon improvement scetching the vision of a great family. Ablutions was immaculate and if you forgot a face cloth, soap or anything, Mrs. Johnny has it ALL covered. We slept like babies the first night, we wanted to blame the heat, but we couldn't.. coz the pool you know Maybe it's the fact that the camping area are securely en camped. . (YES the fence work, no speculation around that one as it was well confirmed when hubby touched it by oops and almost bit through his own tongue) Ahhhhh ..now that right there; made me felt safe But let's be honest; was it because we felt at home and at peace? THA DRIVE: (This track should have its own theme sonG! !) In one word... EPIC! I need to issue caution when going out following the yellow, red and blue arrows. . You tend to say words you forgot you knew! Cross axles, mud diving, stuff that made me go "Nuh uhhh!! Is but just a fraction of what you experience out there.. Till you move up the mountain. . Splendour! We exhaled as we soaked up the beauty. . Truly beautiful! As we returned back to camp I read a banner that said:" Home of Mitsubishi...." "Nahhh, this is home of the Jimny and the Symons Clan too! Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Thank you!! You beautiful hosts and we will see you very soon again!
John Rock is a beautiful camping area with extreme 4x4 obstacles. Perfect for the intimate 4x4 weekend
Difficult route. Still in development. Excellent views with technical obstacles. I would advise to take a second vehicle/friends with for assistance
Great relaxing camp spots and exciting 4x4 tracks.
We had an awesome morning.. It poured with rain and the trail was extremely difficult..
Loved the off road experience with John Rock. Amazing mountain view and great company! Uncle Johnny made us feel at home from the first moment. We were camping there the weekend and with all the rain uncle Johnny helped everyone wherever he can. See you soon again! One of our favorite places to visit. Go view our episode 8 of #bosryers on youtube night drive for our Christmas special shot at John Rock and part 2 in "die slote" BosryersSA join us on YouTube and facebook for our next trip... perhaps you can be on our next episode.
One of the best 4x4 tracks I have been.
