You must be ready to go there as early as 10 am and spend the whole day at the embassy as the process takes long.

There are too many Nigerian nationals here in South Africa but there is no a long queue for people who need consulate services. It's a good sign of efficient service..

I had a bad experience the guy in charge literally fished for a wrong mistake to deny me the visa. I am culturally married to my husband who got a job in Nigeria, so because we don't have the same surname the vfs guys thought it was best we applied for tourist visa.my visa application was declined because he said I should apply for Str, then I did (which isn't cheap plus its not just for me but for my 2kids and our nanny). Then I was called in for an interview, the interview was horrible because I was told that my kids who use my surname cannot get visas because their father's details are not in their birth certificates. So despite the letter that he wrote saying that its his kids the commissioner says he doesn't have proof. And despite the fact that I am their mother. So the commissioner said it would have been better if I applied for the tourist visa which I did and he declined So for his own personal reasons is refusing to give me and my kids. I guess Nigeria will remain a country I will not visit it's a shame because I was looking forward to go there and learn more about their culture (which I love) .
