Be careful and don't just accept what they send you as accurate. I was sent an invoice with the "description of service" on the invoice as "invoice" (which itself is unacceptable). When I asked for an itemized invoice so I could see what I was being charged for, I found that they would've overcharged me R850 for a test I had already paid for. Luckily I avoided that.

On the 3rd March 2020 I requested a quote for services to be rendered. I payed cash for the quote and asked them not to send to medical aid, as I am paying cash. Did they listen.No.! They forwarded this account to the medical aid , after I paid cash and got payment from the medical aid. Double payment. So since March they have been paid by my medical and myself and choose to wait 3 months before sending out a notice by mail 29/6/2020 telling me my account is in credit. Send through all the necessary documentation for refund. Still waiting. They do not reply to emails and when phoning they tell you they are overwhelmed with Covid -19. I am also a frontline worker, but have not used Covid-19 as and excuse to do my work. They refuse to pay my credit if another bill is outstanding for services rendered, ( because 6 monthly blood tests need to be done) and they can take responsibility for me going to pathologist and having services rendered, but in the meantime my R1085 is accruing rent in their account.

Vermaak Pathologists and their thuggish lawyer partners are a bane to potential customers. They have poor communication and are not organised which results in them not properly claiming from your medical aid for ages. Their claims are then rejected and they simply shift the blame back on to you and threaten you with blacklisting. I will go as far as to say that I will stay with a doctor if they insist on using them. Poor isn't even description enough.
