Prince Albert Olives is located in Prince Albert, South Africa on Hope St. Prince Albert Olives is rated 4.3 out of 5 in the category olive oil manufacturer in South Africa. Prince Albert Olives Home Products & Plaas Blog Accommodation Contact Us Home Fred Badenhorst and his son Hein continue the tradition of a long line of farmers in a family who have lived off the soil and its bounty for generations. They saw the unique micro climate of the Prince Albert district producing beautiful figs, grapes, pomegranates and citrus – and realised that olives would be a natural fit. They researched and followed international best practice in order to establish orchards and continue to harvest and process the fruit according to these high standards. Apart from Prince Albert Olives, Fred and Hein farm free range sheep, cattle and game in the Prince Albert district and near Somerset East in the Eastern Cape. Hein and cousin Adi Badenhorst produce wine under the AA Badenhorst Family Wines and Secateurs labels in the Swartland appellation. A few blocks away from the main road (R407) through Prince Albert, but well worth a visit if you're in the area. You can find Prince Albert olive oil in the characteristic pale yellow "gasoline can" at virtually all shops in the region, but you'll get the best price right here at the processing plant. The shop also sells black Kalamata olives and the firmer green ones, both bottled in pure brine - delicious! Friendly staff and olive samples available for tasting before purchase If you're lucky enough to visit whilst olives are being processed - as we were, April 2019) - then you can go next door and watch whole olives brought fresh from the plantations being turned (en masse!) into pesto and thence into olive oil. Interesting and worthwhile visit.

Small but neat caravan park in walking distance of the shops.

Very friendly sevice and nice scenery. Very little entertainment. Great for burying olives and olive oil at very resonable prices. A beautiful pub with lots of yellow wood and artifacts. And very reasonable prices. Loved it there

They have a really nice campsite which is very central to all the attractions of the town. We camped there for a week in May 2015 and it was wonderful.
