We had been near the botanical gardens numerous times while walking the dogs at the park connected to it, but today we went by without them and had a wander about the place. It was eerily quiet and devoid of people (except for those who were working there, of which there were many) visiting, so we were mainly alone, which was fantastic. I tend to not like roses, but there is a huge section for roses, and it’s pretty nice. I truly wish the succulent garden was bigger, but that’s my personal preference. Oh, the bathroom didn’t have any running water or soap, so that wasn’t too cool, but it’s okay. We just used the bathroom before eating lunch. ;)

Had a spectacular maternity shoot here. Pity about the empy fountains and quite a bit of rubbish encountered.

The gardens as a whole are very beautiful but the Rose Garden has become very sparse with about 30% of the roses it used to contain. The Tranquility tea garden has a very nice menu but are unable to provide most of it due to the lack of ingredients.

It was lovely, busy city living with access to wonderful green spaces like these does provide psychology relief from the daily grind. Only negative thing I can say is that not a single fountain or water feature works that I could see which is extremely disappointing. It is still worth the trip for a day!

Great park to to for a walk or to feed the ducks. Awesome for kids. Pick up your own litter and take some cash along for the innumerable ice-cream vendors
