Was admitted for my c-section on the 20th of December. The materning ward at this hospital does not even deserve a single star. The nurses are so unhelpful and incompetent. They mixed up my pain meds, did not help much with the baby and it was my first pregnancy so everything was new. My advice is if you are going through pregnancy for the first time, DO NOT even consider this hospital. The service is horrible. They behave like they are doing you a favor.

I’m 38 weeks pregnant and came into the hospitals maternity ward with severe lower back pain. The nursing staff on call on Monday, 25 March 2019 at 7pm when I got here were extremely unhelpful I waited so long at the reception desk and finally got someone to give me some service. The nurses were just standing around aimlessly talking to each other and not bothered! Finally I got to a room and sister Natasha put up the monitor to check me- she was very cold and had bad attitude towards me. It was an effort for her to answer my questions or concerns. She didn’t even smile not once! She seemed very miserable to be at work and was extremely unprofessional and impolite! This is my second time coming to deliver at this hospital (the last time was 3 yrs ago and it was a good experience hence I came back here) and I’m really disgusted with the service I’ve received today! I’m writing this as I leave the hospital now as I’m not in labor and I’m actually dreading the next time I have to come in here because of the horrible nurses or midwives at the labor ward!! Netcare please sort out your nurses/midwives!! Why do patients like me have to go through such a bad experience when coming to your hospital to deliver a newborn baby! This is highly unacceptable, unprofessional and unfair! We pay high medical aid fees to be able to use a private hospital and we shouldn’t be treated in such a manner!! Hope to hear from someone soon regarding this matter and I hope I don’t get a useless generic response from Netcare! I want this matter resolved and I won’t rest until it does get resolved!!!
