Bennett is SUCH an awesome instructor! He put me at ease from the start despite all my caveats about me not being a strong swimmer, nervous etc! He has a calm and encouraging nature and is attentive, giving specific and helpful, tailored instructions to each learner throughout the lesson, making it much easier to improve throughout each lesson. He was highly recommended by lots of people and I can see why! I'm so pleased we chose him and Soft Surf School - I mean, with a legend like Bennett as your instructor and a school name like that, you can't go wrong! ;) And, most of all, he makes learning to surf loads of fun! Looking forward to my next lesson already!

Bennett knows how to teach you step by step how to surf even when water isn’t your favorite element. I like his patience and enthusiasm, he keeps encouraging to improve and gives clear instructions. In short; an amazing surf teacher!
I honestly couldn’t have imagined Akho’s first surfing lesson going any better! I was worried that he’d be scared in the water. Bennett made all these worries fade away - he first coached Akho on the sand and made sure he had an idea of what he needed to do, and then went out into the water with him. He was patient with Akho, explaining everything in detail and gently pointing out the mistakes Akho was making, and then helping him to correct them. He also just has this infectious vibe that makes everyone stoked, and I think that definitely helped to make Akho feel at ease. Bennett also provided Akho with a wetsuit and board and a cleansing dip in the pool! :) Akho had the absolute time of his life and we are definitely going to be coming back for many more lessons. Thanks so so much for this, Bennett. :)
I had decent surf lessons in the past, but nothing comes close to the lessons I had with Bennett. Aside from being an absolute CHAMPION of a human being, Bennett is a great instructor and communicator, and had me feeling more confident than I’d ever felt on a surfboard in no time. Highly recommended!
