My girlfriend and I spent a guided day with Alan in late March ’18. It was an amazing experience. Alan and Annabelle are wonderful people and will go to great lengths to ensure you have a fantastic time. Alan has access to many fishing waters offering something for all levels of experience and requirements. Having filled out a short questionnaire in advance he took us up into the mountains to experience fishing that we would never find in the UK. We fished rivers and dams for excellent condition trout. Alan prepared a delicious lunch for us, washed down with cold beers and great conversation. We fished into the evening under Alan’s guidance in some stunning pools with a variety of wildlife joining us for the experience. Alan is a wealth of knowledge on fishing, local wildlife and the environment. Take a day out with him, you will enjoy it. One piece of advice I would offer to any novices….take a casting lesson before your day out. Alan can teach you (a very good teacher he is too!) but to make the most of your time with him try to pick up a fly rod before. You can learn to cast anywhere but a day in the Karoo with Alan is something special, make it count.
