Darren Peterson

Inspired by the life of the late Ron Peterson, Southern Stars Baseball Club was established in 2010 with one team entry into the senior minor league winter ball. Our Chairman and founder of the club, Darren Peterson has been involved with South African baseball since 8 years of age and driven by his grandfather, Ian Henderson who played in the major league for Wonderers Giants in the mid 1950’s. Our nomadic and humble beginnings led us to our home Germiston Sports Club in 2013. Since finding our home, Germiston Sports Club, Southern Stars have grown from strength to strength with our minor league team ending in second place in the league in 2017, missing the win by 1 run. In 2018 Southern Stars intends to launch the introduction of a junior league team entry and a second senior team in the winter league.
