Beau Joubert Vineyard & Winery is situated on a farm originally founded in 1695 in the renowned Stellenbosch region of South Africa. Since 1795, the Vineyard & Winery has been under the Joubert Family’s personal attention and dedication. After five consecutive generations, October 2000 began a new era at Beau Joubert, as a group of successful businessmen from Wisconsin, U.S.A. joined as partners. The beautiful 105 hectare (240 acres) estate is nestled on the upper south-facing slopes of the Vlaeberg Valley, overlooking False Bay of the Atlantic Ocean, and the Stellenbosch mountains. The wines continue to be made from grapes exclusively grown in the family vineyards. The terroir consists of steep slopes with diverse aspects of mineral-rich granite soils, cooled by the breezes of the nearby sea. The maritime influence on the vineyard’s microclimate plays an essential role in the slow development of the fruit. Today, Ian (Bees) Engelbrecht oversees the care & well being of the 55 hectares of hand harvested grapes; as Christian Kuun skillfully crafts them into exceptional wines.
