Sunday lunch at Glenelly on 28th March 2021. This has been one of the most beautiful afternoons in months, for us. The warm welcome by Chef-Patron Dehosse was a good start, and it just got better and better. The service is impeccable and friendly, but not overly so. The food is more than bistro food - it's flavourful, country-like but very refined, with classic sauces which can only be made by well-trained chefs. The balance of the menu is perfect, and the delicious Glenelly wines match perfectly. We cannot wait to return.

Casually elegant, fine dining in architectural gem. Top notch food, a small but inventive menu, terrific service and some of the best views around. Great cuisine, comfortable dining room, lovely selection of wines. One of the best places to view the sunset.

We originally booked this as we were travelling from Cape Town to Franschhoek and it was on our way then our plans changed but we decided to go anyway. I think that had we looked at the menu first we may have chosen to eat elsewhere as when we got there, there was nothing ‘throwing’ itself at us but that’s down to personal choice. We did both end up ordering the Bouillabaisse which turned out to be very nice. The service was good but we felt the waitress was disappointed we weren’t ordering more - spending more money!! Once we finished our meal we had a look around and realised that what we should have done was gone for the wine tasting and ordered a meat/cheese platter. The views from the room above were superior to those of where we were below A lovely vineyard but we just made the wrong choice!

The chef is very rude on social media. Do not support a restaurant and support someone who is so rude and unfriendly. Avoid this place altogether.

Superb fine-dining, excellent menu, enjoyed the lamb cutlets mains and dark chocolate mouse dessert, has good wine list of own and nearby wines. Relaxing views over vines, expensive.
