Collected my Drivers License. It took me less than 5 minutes. The ladies at the desk were friendly and efficient.

Been in queue for 30minutes, no movement what so ever! Lady in front of me been sitting in same position in queue for an hour. After an hour I was finally inside, just to join another queue. Processing inside is faster but still slow. I spent a little more than 3hours here. Staff is friendly and sufficient workers.

Do not answer the phone. Once you get through do not provide feedback on queries, do not call back. Totally unresponsive up the public which they are supposed to serve

I went to renew my drivers license. It took me 3 tries to realize I would have to take a day off work to get it done. They process 5 people an hour. 5! At 8am there are 40 people in the queue. People start queuing at 6am and leave at 12pm. They then conveniently start showing people away at 14:30. Take a chair, make sure your phone is charged, bring water and food. It’s going to be along day. Bring your ID, drivers license if you still have it, two photos and proof of address. Don’t bother if one of those docs is missing.

I received a speeding fine in February 2020 while driving German tourists around to show them the beautiful ( but apparently not so friendly Traffic Dept) and asked for a reduction. On July 16 I paid the full amount of R580 at a time where my income dropped with 95%. On October 10 a car stops at my front gate in Durbanville, handing me a "Summons in a criminal case". I am referred to as "the accused" . Why did they not first contact me to make sure whether the money was paid or not? This is really unacceptable and typical of the Big Brother mentality in SA. I feel I should take them to court for referring to me as "The accused" as it makes me feel rather "dirty", being a law abiding citizen

Had to renew my driver's license. Best interaction I've experienced with a government entity in many years! Friendly, efficient and knowledgeable - they even started serving applicants before their official opening time. Take a bow Stellenbosch Traffic Dept, you turned what is usually a nightmare into a surprisingly pleasant experience.

Someone fraudulently imitated my signature, picked up my license and never gave it to me. Now I have a traffic fine for unpaid license and the traffic department refuses to issue another one....
