Europcar and Tempest appear on the rental cars website but the rules of who can and can't be a driver are apparently different between the tempest site and the rental cars site. When calling to enquire about the money that the customer loses (thousands) because of this difference,be ready to be laughed at over the phone (very unprofessional). Sounds kind of scammy, doesn't it? If you know you're on a website it should be the company's job to ensure that they are not misrepresented.

Picked up a car late at night and was made to do an “inspection” in very bad lighting. Everyone was happy to sign off. When I return the car, I had nearly stopped when a dent was pointed out to me that I must have made. I was forced to sign an incident report to investigate the matter. Bottom line is that I am going to be liable for something that might have been there or not before I took the car. No staff were on duty when I took the car, systems were offline, the lady behind the desk had to show us to the car in the dark. As someone who rents monthly from various agencies I didn’t feel like a customer. I felt like the accused. No doubt I will be charged an exorbitant amount of money to fix a dent that I did not cause. Very disappointed. I guess there is a reason why they claim to be cheap in their marketing.

Tempest Car Hire King Shaka was a pleasure to use. One of the few car hire companies that offer unlimited kms just for a day of car hire. I had a good experience with pick up, return and my deposit was refunded within reasonable time. Looking forward to using their services again.

I was told to fill the car to avoid extra charges, so I did. The fuel cost to fill up was R125. They then charged me R300 to refuel (to fill a full car, really??) AND a refuelling fee!!! When I complained they said small print allowed it and would not refund me. Unethical to say the least and potentially fraudulent

No issues whatsoever. I am highly sceptical of all car hire companies and their (sometimes) devious practices. However I was pleasantly surprised to have not even one tiny complaint. The service was good, the vehicle was clean and in good shape. Car return was easy and quick. And deposit back into my credit card a few days later. Will definitely be using them again! Keep up the good work :)

Booked a car through Mango. When I arrived at the airport to collect the car a substantial surcharge, which I was never made aware of, was applied on the car . This was due to me being a 'young driver'. I believe I should have been made aware of this when booking the car. When asked for feedback on the car the following day Tempest opted to ignore this and never got back to me.

Horrible service and would not recommend it to anyone unless you want to chase after this company for your deposit back.Booked a car on 20 December 2018 and returned it on 01 January 2019. Till to date(Over a month later), our deposit is not returned and no one seems to know who can clarify this matter for us. So unprofessional!!!!
