One of the joys of 2019, and a personal highlight for my husband and I, was embracing local tourism and our trip to the KZN Battlefields and the Drakensberg! Due to personal reasons our dates shifted a few times and Kay could not have been more patient and gracious in scheduling and rescheduling flights, accommodation, excursions and the car for us. The TAS online presentation system ensures that your itinerary and every detail of your trip is in one easily accessible place. With preparation and support like this it is no wonder that our trip was seamless. It is my wish that every South African could have the opportunity to experience a battlefield tour...there is so much we can learn about our present from our past. This trip made me fall in love with history again! Our itinerary struck just the right balance between history, activity (hiking), scenery and relaxation. And food! Lots of delicious food! We stayed at Rorke's Drift and Cleopatra Mountain Lodge. We were so touched when the TAS team remembered that our original trip (before Covid and other things changed everything) was to celebrate our anniversary and arranged a special picnic for us.
