We were treated like royalty. The food was exceptional and the service fantastic. The game drives were amazing, with a highly skilled guide showing us around. I loved the scenery and views. The flora is fascinating. The starscapes impeccable.

We just came home from our two nights stay at the White Lion Lodge on the Sanbona Wildlife Reserve. We loved it and booked already for another trip in October. Why? For us it is a peace of heaven on earth. If you look for a quiet and peaceful place you have to book there. The lodge has only 4 cottages and so a lot of privacy and personal care from the management. It offers daily two game drives and in Non Corona times you can see the big 5 but rhinos just a 3 hours drive from Cape Town. And Sanbona is really a wildlife reserve and not a zoo like park. The décor inside the cottages is exquisite. You feel that it has been selected with love and taste. The cherry on the top is an additional outside shower from where you can watch Kudus and Baboons passing by. Because the nights were still quite chilly we were happy that the cottage not only has an AC but double glass windows and a gas fire place making the room cosy. We were also fond of the meals. The lodge focuses on organic products and local venison and wines which are included in the price. It is an upmarket place but surely the money worth you pay for it. Thanks again Gerhild and staff. We will see you again soon for our 25 anniversary stay at your amazing lodge.
