Karl is really friendly and helpful, looked after the entire family with young kids. Beautiful views of the dam wall on the trail.

Horseriding is done at Ushaka Horse trails, which also trades as part of Monkscowl Adventures. We had a 2hr trail on horseback which was very nice.

Absolutely stunning views. Small curio shop. Toilet facilities. Tea garden; poorly positioned without a view of the mountain. Electrified and non-electrified camping sites. Over night car park for serious hikers.

Spectacular experience! We hiked here in July and it was surprisingly much warmer at the time than what we would have expected, with a few dips in temperature as we went along. There are 8 day walks that you can do, with varying degrees of difficulty (between 2.5 and 16km). The pathways are clearly marked along the way which is a great help. Make sure to wear comfy shoes as the terrain can be a little bit slippery and steep and you will need grip. The Hlatikhulu forest walk requires you to cross a short, shallow river as well; you cross over big rocks (see picture posted). Adult entrance is R40 and the map is R7 at this time. There are walking sticks for sale just outside the office where you register your walk for the day. Campsites with and without electrical plugpoints available as well (R120 base rate). There are many birds and trees to be seen and enjoyed!

Beautiful scenery, clearly marked directions so you don't get lost especially if you're a first time hiker.

Really an excellent camp site! Close to some amazing trails! The bottom ablutions were a bit neglected and the showers got flooded pretty easily. There was more than one occasion where the camp's gates were open after 22:00 and there was no security guard at the guard post. This made us uneasy and question whether our possessions would be safe when we started with our 3 day hike...
