An unexpected experience at this desert Botanical Garden in Worcester. After the rains the flowers were in bloom - such striking colours among the desert succulents. And some lovely hikes in late winter. Don't hike in summer it is far too hot. There is a restaurant in the gardens which we visited a few years ago - excellent burgers.

Garden absolutely beautiful. Staff friendly and efficient, especially at the nursery. Horticulturist runs on passion. Restaurant serves the best smoothies and ice tea with lots of great gifts to buy at affordable prices. Warm friendly place to visit.

Beautifully looked after. Interesting plants and flowers some quite unusual. Loveky lawns to picnic and the restaurant is well priced, great food and big selection. Highly recommend a visit, take a gentle hike altho even on the easiest route be careful not to slip, it can be quite rocky in parts and loose small rocks and stones, Especially for the older folks or those with knee or ankle problems. Well worth the visit tho and only R30 entry fee Thumbs Up

We had a wonderful outing at the Karoo Desert National Botanical Garden. There is an entrance fee of R30 per adult, if you make a booking at the restaurant the entrance is free. There are three walking routes in the mountain as well as a few at ground level between the flowers where you can see the Nama hut. The walking routes are 1 kilometer, 3.5 kilometers or 4.5 kilometers. The hill at the start of all the routes are quite steep, but there are signs along the way where you can admire the view of Worcester from the top. The route are in good condition. Coming down the 1 and 3.5 kilometer trails it is very steep and you have to watch your step. This time of the year the flowers are beautiful and the upkeep of the gardens are excellent. You can also visit the nursery where there are a lot of plant for sale at very good prices. The gardens at ground level are great for picnics with your family as well as dogs. The restaurant on site have a good variety of food. The food is very delicious, but the service is quite slow (maybe it will be better when there are fewer tables). We will definitely visit the gardens again.

Great idea. The signage is terrible. We overshot and drove around in the valley beyond. No signage to show where to park for the restaurant either. Somewhat underwhelmed!

Well maintained area and good for hiking. There is a restaurant. Not too suitable to take tiny kids along as there is alot of walking and not much plant life when not in bloom.
